IEEE to Reward Sections for High Voter Turnout in Annual Election

If you are an IEEE member, your local section's performance in the annual election now directly impacts its funding.

The IEEE Tellers Committee has introduced a new incentive program to encourage higher voter turnout in its annual elections. Starting with the 2026 elections, IEEE Sections that achieve the highest voter response rates within their respective regions will receive financial rewards. The program categorizes sections into large (over 1,501 eligible voters), medium (501-1,500 eligible voters), and small (500 or fewer eligible voters). Large sections will receive $1,000, medium sections $600, and small sections $400 if they are the top performers in their region. This initiative aims to boost participation in the IEEE's democratic processes.
