Lunacy Audio has launched Nova, a platform designed for creators to build and sell AI-powered music plugins. Initially, ten plugins, ranging from chiptune sounds to ambient drones, are available, developed by Lunacy and select partners. These plugins feature straightforward interfaces and can be used directly in a web browser or via a dedicated host plugin within a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). The platform distinguishes itself by enabling plugin creation through pre-made effect blocks and AI prompts, rather than traditional coding. Lunacy plans to release Nova Builder in the future, which will allow any user to create their own plugins or modify existing ones. The company aims to foster a collaborative environment where plugins can be remixed and enhanced by the community, drawing inspiration from platforms like Polyend's Endless. Lunacy is actively engaging with the music-making community through developer diaries and feedback requests, acknowledging the cautious reception AI tools have historically faced in this sector.
